Existe poca evidencia de escalas de medición con propiedades psicométricas adecuadas respecto a la Calidad de Vida Laboral en el personal sanitario, por lo que el objetivo fue desarrollar y examinar las propiedades psicométricas de la Escala Mexicana de Calidad de Vida Laboral (EMCVL). Se realizó un estudio instrumental y transversal. Fase 1) desarrollo de la escala y validez de contenido; Fase 2) validación con dos muestras diferentes [n = 293] y [n = 300] a través de un cuestionario en línea. Se obtuvo validez de contenido para 60 ítems (V de Aiken > .90); los análisis factoriales exploratorio y confirmatorio arrojaron una estructura de seis dimensiones; los índices de ajuste de la escala final con 24 ítems fueron aceptables (χ2[257] = 540.277; CMIN/DF = 2.102; NFI = .914; CFI = .953; GFI = .877, AGFI = .845; SRMR = .047; RMSEA = .061 [.054-.069] p <.001), con buenos índices de confiabilidad (α = .949, ω = .982). La EMCVL demostró confiabilidad en la consistencia interna, varias evidencias de validez y una invarianza configuracional y métrica aceptable con un modelo que confirma la existencia de seis dimensiones que explican el constructo a través de 24 ítems.(AU)


There is little evidence of measurement scales with appropriate psychometric properties regard Quality of Work-Life in health personnel, so the objective was to develop and examine psychometric properties of Mexican Quality of Work Life Scale (MQWLS). An instrumental, cross-sectional study was conducted. Phase 1) development of the scale and con-tent validity; Phase 2) validation with two different samples [n= 293] and [n = 300] through an online questionnaire. Content validity was obtained for 60 items (Aiken's V>.90); exploratory and confirmatory factor analyz-es yielded a six-dimension structure; the fit indexes from the final scale with 24 items were acceptable (χ2[257]=540.277; CMIN/DF=2.102; NFI=.914; CFI=.953; GFI=.877, AGFI=.845; SRMR=.047; RMSEA=.061 [.054-.069] p <.001), with good reliability indices (α =.949,ω=.982). MQWLS proved internal consistency reliability, several ev-idences of validity and acceptable configurational and metric invariance with a model that confirms the existence of six dimensions that explain the construct through 24 items.(AU)

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to explore the role of psychological detachment from work in the relationship of boundary violations and flourishing, as well as gender differences among university teachers during mandatory telework. We developed and tested a moderate mediation model where psychological detachment was the explanatory mechanism of the relationship between boundary violations with flourishing and using gender as the moderating variable. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 921 Brazilian university teachers (mean age 44 years, 681 women and 240 men) during mandatory telework. Multigroup analysis and moderate mediation were performed using Mplus 7.2. RESULTS: Psychological detachment mediated the relationship between boundary violations (in both directions) and flourishing and work-to-family violations were more harmful to women' recovery instead family-to-work violations were more harmful to men' recovery, among university teachers during mandatory telework. CONCLUSION: By focusing on boundary violations in the context of mandatory telework, the study sheds light on the impact of blurred boundaries between work and personal life. This contributes both literature on work-life balance and literature recovery. Moreover, it helps to understand a crisis setting of remote work. Further, the study's findings regarding gender differences highlight how men and women may experience and cope with boundary violations differently during mandatory telework, supporting future specific interventions across genders.

BACKGROUND: Many factors influencing residency attrition are identified in the literature, but what role these factors play and how they influence each other remains unclear. Understanding more about the interaction between these factors can provide background to put the available evidence into perspective and provide tools to reduce attrition. The aim of this study was therefore to develop a model that describes voluntary residency attrition. METHODS: Semi-structured interviews were held with a convenient sample of orthopaedic surgery residents in the Netherlands who dropped out of training between 2000 and 2018. Transcripts were analysed using a constructivist grounded theory approach. Concepts and themes were identified by iterative constant comparison. RESULTS: Seventeen interviews with former residents were analysed and showed that reasons for voluntary attrition were different for each individual and often a result of a cumulative effect. Individual expectations and needs determine residents' experiences with the content of the profession, the professional culture and the learning climate. Personal factors like previous clinical experiences, personal circumstances and personal characteristics influence expectations and needs. Specific aspects of the residency programme contributing to attrition were type of patient care, required skills for the profession, work-life balance and interpersonal interaction. CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a model for voluntary resident attrition showing the factors involved and how they interact. This model places previous research into perspective, gives implications for practice on the (im)possibilities of preventing attrition and opens possibilities for further research into resident attrition.

Flexible work arrangements, such as teleworking, have gained massive and unprecedented usage for creating work environments that foster well-being and productivity. Yet empirical evidence is still scant and not much is known about the role of organizational climate(s) in this process. Accordingly, the present study was set out to investigate the mediating mechanisms linking flexible teleworking to scientific productivity by considering climate for well-being dimensions, the climates for excellence and for innovation, and eudaemonic well-being as mediating constructs. Data were collected from 358 members of 48 Spanish European Research Council (ERC) granted teams and analyses were conducted both at the individual and team level, after checking for the relevant aggregation indexes. Relevant and significant relations were found within the hypothesized statistical model both at the individual and team level of analysis. The climate dimension of team support and the climate for innovation, together with eudaimonic well-being, resulted to be linked by significant relationships suggesting a potential mediating path. Also, empirical evidence supported considering gender as a control variable for the relationship between flexible teleworking and the climate dimension of work-life balance. In conclusion, climate variables and eudaimonic well-being represent relevant variables for the explanation of the relationship between flexible teleworking and scientific productivity. Practical and theoretical implications, and limitations are further discussed in the article. (AU)

INTRODUCTION: Work-life balance (WLB) plays a significant role in improving career satisfaction and reducing burnout. While health workers' productivity is considered a key factor in client care, there is limited effort put into examining how health workers perceive the balance of their jobs with family and other societal responsibilities (PWLB), especially in low-income countries where the number of health workers in active patient care is low. The purpose of this study was to assess factors associated with perceived work-life balance (PWLB) among health workers in the rural district of Gulu, Northern Uganda. METHODS: A health facility-based cross-sectional analytical study was conducted. A simple random sampling technique was used to select 384 study participants from the three main hospitals in Gulu District. Data were collected from health workers using a self-administered semi-structured questionnaire and analyzed using STATA version 15. Factors associated with PWLB were determined at a multivariable level using a modified Poisson regression with robust variance with a 95% confidence level and 5% statistical significance. Adjusted prevalent ratios (APR) were used to report the Factors associated with PWLB. RESULTS: Only 157/384 (40.9%) of the health workers reported a positive perceived work-life balance. Multivariable modified Poisson regression analysis showed positive statistical association with PWLB of a laboratory worker(APR = 1.74, 95% CI: 1.10-2.75); a midwife(APR = 1.82, 95% CI:1.13-2.93) or a nurse (APR = 2.19, 95% CI = 1.45-3.30); working in the inpatient department (APR = 1.97, 95% CI: 1.31-2.96) or laboratory (APR = 2.09, 95%CI: 1.34-3.28); and having a flexible work schedule (APR = 28.32, 95%CI:14.52-55.22); feeling satisfied at work (APR = 1.58; 95% CI:1.17-2.10), and belonging to an association in the community (APR = 32.71, 95% Cl:11.91-89.88). On the other hand, employment tenure of 1-4 years (APR = 0.63,95% CI:0.40-0.99) was negatively associated with perceived work-life balance. CONCLUSION: Only four in every 10 health workers experienced a positive perceived work-life balance. The type of profession, duty station, flexibility in work schedule, satisfaction with work, and availability of social support systems, were independent determinants of perceived WLB. Therefore, nurturing a system of reviews of the scheduling of health workers, allowing internal staff rotation, and fostering support systems around the health workers could be beneficial for WLB.

INTRODUCTION: Work-life conflict (WLC) is important in organizational behavior research and human resource management. The present research aimed to investigate the underlying causes, consequences, and solutions to WLC in Iranian working women. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present qualitative study was conducted through a content analysis method among 19 working married women in Birjand, a city in the east of Iran, from December 2021 to February 2022. To collect the data, semi-structured interviews were held. The average interview time was 45 minutes, and all interviews were recorded upon the participants' consent. Finally, after coding, the information was analyzed with MAXQDA software. FINDINGS: The causes of conflict included 4 main categories of individual, interpersonal, organizational, and cultural factors, with seven subcategories: the pressure of the mother's role at home, personality traits, lack of individual skills, insufficient support, work characteristics, organizational policies, and the traditional role of women in society. The consequences of conflict included 2 main categories, Decreasing quality of life and work problems with 4 subcategories: physical and mental illnesses, forgetting one's role towards others, limiting social communication, and reducing productivity. Conflict resolution methods included 3 main classes of individual-oriented, other-oriented, and organization-oriented with 8 subclasses: program-oriented, meaning-oriented, emotion-oriented, avoidance, emotional support, instrumental and work support, support work policies, and correct management views. CONCLUSION: To solve the problem of conflict, different aspects should be considered and help to solve this challenge by influencing each dimension.

AIMS: Employee-based flexible working hours are increasing, particularly among knowledge workers. Research indicates that women and men use work-time control (WTC; control over time off and daily hours) differently: while men work longer paid hours, women use WTC to counteract work-life interference. In a knowledge-worker sample, we examined associations between WTC and overtime, work-life interference and exhaustion and tested whether gender moderates the mediating role of overtime. METHODS: The sample contained 2248 Swedish knowledge workers. Employing hierarchical regression modelling, we examined effects of control over time off/daily hours on subsequent overtime hours, work-life interference and exhaustion in general and in gender-stratified samples. Using conditional process analysis, we tested moderated mediation models. RESULTS: Control over time off was related to less work-life interference (ßmen= -0.117; 95% confidence interval (CI): -0.237 to 0.003; ßwomen= -0.253; 95% CI: -0.386 to -0.120) and lower exhaustion (ßmen= -0.199; 95% CI: -0.347 to -0.051; ßwomen= -0.271; 95% CI: -0.443 to -0.100). For control over daily hours, estimates were close to zero. While men worked more overtime (42 min/week), we could not confirm gender moderating the indirect effect of control over time off/daily hours on work-life interference/exhaustion via overtime. Independent of gender, effects of control over time off on work-life interference were partly explained by working fewer overtime hours. CONCLUSIONS: Control over time off was related to lower exhaustion and better work-life balance (in particular for women). We found no evidence for men's work-life interference increasing with higher WTC owing to working more overtime. Knowledge workers' control over time off may help prevent work-life interference and burnout.

OBJECTIVE: Job satisfaction is an emerging indicator for measuring workers' occupational well-being; however, this has been poorly studied in managers. We aimed to explore job satisfaction between managers and employees and assess its factors. METHODS: Data from Wittyfit's users were collected between January 2018 and February 2020. Volunteers anonymously provided their sociodemographic profile, their sense of job satisfaction, and their psychosocial feelings (ambiance, meaning, organization, recognition, values, work-life balance). RESULTS: Data of 10,484 employees and 836 managers were collected. Job satisfaction was higher in managers than employees. All psychosocial factors had an impact on job satisfaction in workers. There was a higher prevalence of satisfied managers than employees. Managerial position and other sociodemographic variables influenced this prevalence. CONCLUSIONS: Managers seem to be more satisfied than employees. Psychosocial and sociodemographic factors can influence workers' job satisfaction.

BACKGROUND: The current global outbreak caused by COVID-19 has produced a unique situation with severe health and financial consequences. The fast and quick global impact called for an immediate response. A key public health action was the decision to amend the law to allow employees to work from home (WFH) whenever it was possible. In response to public health restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19, organizations quickly switched to WFH without fully comprehending the effects of continued WFH on mental and physical health. Working from anywhere and at any time has made the separation between business and personal life more difficult. These modifications may cause employees' workdays to be longer and to experience greater work-life conflict. Overwork and work addiction provide a greater risk to the public's health and can harm various facets of mental and physical health, such as depression, anxiety, and sleep difficulties. There hasn't been much research on the underlying processes that link workaholism to poor mental health, especially among Indian academics. PURPOSE: There is a rise in the number of people who are worried about their mental health in academic settings. The primary purpose of this study is to determine whether academicians in India can potentially have a healthy work-family balance, which may mitigate the negative impacts of workaholism and poor mental health especially due to the Work from Home system. METHODOLOGY: A population-based study was conducted on academicians (n = 456) at private and public universities in Delhi NCR, India. Workaholism, work-family balance, and mental health difficulties were all measured using self-reported scales in the study. By using path analysis, the proposed mediation model was evaluated. The survey responses had an accuracy rate of 80%. Based on the conceptual research framework, PLS-SEM path modeling is used to find the causal connection between the indicators and latent components. FINDINGS: The findings indicated that workaholism has been associated with mental health in two different ways: directly and through work-family balance. The path analysis found a statistically significant relationship between work from home and mental health through workaholism and work-family balance. Increased levels of anxiety, depression, stress, headaches, exhaustion, and reduced job satisfaction were some of the mental health consequences of Work from Home. PRACTICAL IMPLICATION: This study provides real-world guidance to human resource managers on how to prioritize composite-level interventions at all levels of the university to create highly satisfied employees, provide a good working environment, and improve employees' mental health. ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Many researches have been done on the relationship between work-from-home and employee mental health, but relatively few have looked at how work-life balance and workaholism play a role in how work-from-home affects employees' mental health. This study fills a need in the academic and practitioner literature by investigating the relationship between work-from-home from home and employee mental health as well as the mediating function of work-family balance and workaholism with regard to Indian higher education institutions.

BACKGROUND: Physician burnout rates are rising. Because dissatisfaction with work-life balance (WLB) is associated with burnout, improving this balance is a key solution. This cross-sectional survey study aims to evaluate factors associated with WLB in trauma surgeons, stratified by gender. METHODS: This is a secondary analysis, studying gender, of a AAST survey evaluating predictors of WLB in trauma surgeons. Survey topics include demographics, clinical practice, family, lifestyle, and emotional support. Subgroups were analyzed independently; primary outcome was WLB satisfaction. RESULTS: 292 AAST members completed the survey. Responses were stratified by gender (29% females, 71% males). Independent predictors of WLB satisfaction are: Females: more awake hours at home, having a job well-suited for them, better about meeting deadlines. Males: comfortable declining new tasks, fair compensation, healthy diet, workplace emotional support. CONCLUSION: Factors associated with WLB satisfaction in trauma surgeons are different based on gender. This information may help trauma surgeons mitigate burnout.

Many argue that the concept of "work-life balance" is impossible to achieve for busy physicians. After spending years in medical training and building a career in health care, physicians often find their work encroaching upon other aspects of day-to-day life. Over the past decade, studies have shown that physician burnout, stress, depression, mental health, and general lack of well-being affect productivity, efficiency, and patient care. In this article, we will discuss the concept of "work-life balance" and recommend strategies to strive for a meaningful balance.

AIM: To gain a deeper understanding of what is important to nurses when thinking about shift patterns and the organisation of working time. DESIGN: A cross-sectional survey of nursing staff working across the UK and Ireland collected quantitative and qualitative responses. METHODS: We recruited from two National Health Service Trusts and through an open call via trade union membership, online/print nursing profession magazines and social media. Worked versus preferred shift length/pattern, satisfaction and choice over shift patterns and nurses' views on aspects related to work and life (when working short, long, rotating shifts) were analysed with comparisons of proportions of agreement and crosstabulation. Qualitative responses on important factors related to shift preferences were analysed with inductive thematic analysis. RESULTS: Eight hundred and seventy-three survey responses were collected. When nurses worked long shifts and rotating shifts, lower proportions reported being satisfied with their shifts and working their preferred shift length and pattern. Limited advantages were realised when comparing different shift types; however, respondents more frequently associated 'low travel costs' and 'better ability to do paid overtime' with long shifts and 'healthy diet/exercise' with short shifts; aspects related to rotating shifts often had the lowest proportions of agreement. In the qualitative analysis, three themes were developed: 'When I want to work', 'Impacts to my life outside work' and 'Improving my work environment'. Reasons for nurses' shift preferences were frequently related to nurses' priorities outside of work, highlighting the importance of organising schedules that support a good work-life balance. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: General scheduling practices like adhering to existing shift work guidelines, using consistent and predictable shift patterns and facilitating flexibility over working time were identified by nurses as enablers for their preferences and priorities. These practices warrant meaningful consideration when establishing safe and efficient nurse rosters. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: This survey was developed and tested with a diverse group of stakeholders, including nursing staff, patients, union leads and ward managers. REPORTING METHOD: The Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies (STROBE) checklist for cross-sectional studies was used to guide reporting.

BACKGROUND: In recent years, researchers have been examining the impact of work-life balance (WLB) on mental health, considering it as a potential risk factor. However, it remains unclear whether the traditional understanding of WLB applies to older adults who worked for fewer hours before full retirement and whose children are likely to be independent adults. Therefore, this study aims to propose a modified form of WLB specifically for older adults. Within this context, we hypothesize that an optimum balance between working hours and social engagement protects against depressive symptoms among older adults. METHOD: We conducted an analysis using data on 5,751 Korean adults older than 55 years from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging 2016. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the relationships among working hours, social engagement, and depressive symptoms. RESULTS: Older adults who worked fewer than 35 h per week were less likely to experience depressive symptoms than were non-working older adults and those working 35 h or more per week. Additionally, older adults with a high level of informal social participation, thus occurring almost every day or two to three times per week, were less likely to experience depressive symptoms than were those with a low level of such participation (once a month or less). Furthermore, depressive symptoms were less frequent among those who worked fewer than 35 h per week and engaged in a high level of informal social participation compared to non-working older individuals and those with a low level of informal social participation. CONCLUSIONS: Maintaining an optimal number of working hours and degree of social engagement are necessary to minimize the risk of depressive symptoms in older adults. Based on these findings, we suggest that fulfillment for work and life and their balance are important for older adults and propose work-life fulfillment balance.

El objetivo del presente estudio es conocer el equilibrio ocupacional de las personas con enfermedad reumá-tica y analizar su relación con la participación, el rendimiento y satisfacción con las actividades de la vida diaria (AVD), así como evaluar si la edad o recibir tratamiento no farmacológico influ-yen en los resultados.Método. Estudio transversal realizado entre marzo y noviembre de 2021 en personas con diagnóstico de enfermedad reumática en fase no avanzada procedentes de la Asociación ConArtritis, seleccionadas mediante muestreo aleatorio simple. Se recogie-ron, on-line y/o por teléfono, datos sociodemográficos y pun-tuaciones de los cuestionarios OBQ, IMPACT-S, COPM, y de un cuestionario creado ad hoc para las AVD.Resultados. Los 47 participantes no presentaban un buen equi-librio ocupacional (OBQ: 34,2; DE: 13,7). A pesar de una buena participación en AVD (IMPACT-S: 76,8; DE: 13,1), el grado de desempeño y de satisfacción con las AVD distó de ser óptimo (COPM-R: 3,9; DE=2,0 y COPM-S: 4,3; DE=2,5). El 46,8% encon-traba limitaciones en al menos cuatro AVD, tanto básicas como instrumentales, y el 61,7% utilizaba al menos un producto de apoyo en su día a día. Estas limitaciones disminuían su tiem-po de descanso y afectaban a su actividad laboral, aficiones y relaciones personales. El grado de desempeño se relacionó ne-gativamente con la edad (p=0,04); recibir tratamiento no farma-cológico no modificó las puntuaciones.Conclusión. Los datos recabados sugieren que las personas con enfermedad reumática en fases no avanzadas de la enfermedad perciben que su equilibrio ocupacional mejoraría si encontra-sen menos limitaciones en las AVD (AU)


Background. We aimed to assess the occupational balance of people with rheumatic disease, analyze its relationship with par-ticipation, performance, and satisfaction with daily life activi-ties, and evaluate whether age or receiving non-pharmacological treatment affects the outcome.Methods. Cross-sectional study carried out between March and November 2021; patients with non-advanced stage of rheumatic disease from the ConArtritis Association –selected through sim-ple random sampling–, were included. Sociodemographic data and scores from the OBQ, IMPACT-S, COPM questionnaires, and a questionnaire created ad hoc for daily life activities were collected online and/or by telephone.Results. The occupational balance of the 47 participants was low (OBQ: 34.2; SD: 13.7). Despite a high participation in daily life activities (IMPACT-S: 76.8; SD: 13.1), the degree of perfor-mance and satisfaction with these activities was far from op-timal (COPM-R: 3.9; SD: 2.0 and COPM-S: 4.3; SD: 2.5); 46.8% of the participants found limitations in at least four daily life activities (basic and instrumental) and 61.7% used at least one support product in their daily lives. These limitations reduced their resting time and affected their jobs, hobbies, and personal relationships. The level of performance was negatively related to age (p=0.04); No changes in the scores were found in patients who received non-pharmacological treatment.Conclusion. Our results suggest that individuals with non- advanced stage of a rheumatic disease perceive that their oc-cupational balance may be improved should they have fewer limitations in daily life activities (AU)

This study analyzes the heterogenous effects of reducing weekly work hour on workers' quality of life in Korea. Using longitudinal household data from the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) from 2001 to 2017, this study aims to shed light on how the work hour reduction policy may differently affect workers with different levels of resources and support by demographic and socioeconomic status. Our estimates from the difference-in-differences approach exploiting the staggered implementation of the work hour reduction policy indicate that the policy increased leisure satisfaction of female workers with low educational level and female workers in regular or inflexible work setting. Given Korea's exceedingly long working hours and inequities in the labor market, a better understanding of the complex factors that affect work-life balance can be helpful in developing policies supportive of healthy work-life balance for workers. This study, to our knowledge, is the first to investigate the composition of workers in the Korean labor market and examine differential impacts of the workhour reduction policy by demographic and socioeconomic status.

Objetivos: investigar desde la Ciencia de la Ocupación la influencia del contexto en el equilibrio ocupacional de mujeres mayores de la ciudad de Puerto Montt. Métodos: metodología cualitativa, transversal, la población corresponde a ocho personas adultas mayores que habitan en la Provincia de Llanquihue; cuatro pertenecen a una agrupación de personas adultas mayores de zona rural y cuatro residen en zona urbana, seleccionadas aleatoriamente. Resultados: dentro de los resultados generales, se observa que, los relatos están enmarcados principalmente en cuatro categorías: equilibrio ocupacional, ocupaciones, satisfacción personal y bienestar. Conclusiones: existen diferencias en el concepto de equilibrio ocupacional de adultas mayores residentes en ambas zonas, viéndose afectado por la salud, limitando la participación en ocupaciones. Las residentes en zona rural perciben mayor equilibrio ocupacional en comparación con las de zona urbana, destacando satisfacción con la vida, estrechamente relacionada con la maternidad.(AU)


Objective: To investigate, from the perspective of Occupational Science, the influence of context on the occupational balance of older women in the city of Puerto Montt. Methods: Qualitative, cross-sectional methodology. The sample consists of 8 older women residing in the Llanquihue province: 4 belong to an Association of Aged Females from a rural area, and 4 reside in an urban area, randomly selected. Results: Within the general results, the findings are mainly categorized into four themes: occupational balance, occupations, personal satisfaction, and well-being. Conclusions: Differences exist in the concept of occupational balance among older women residing in both areas, influenced by health conditions that limit participation in occupations. Residents in rural areas perceive greater occupational balance compared to those in urban areas, with a notable emphasis on life satisfaction, closely linked to motherhood.(AU)

Introducción: el personal de enfermería enfrenta a diario jornadas extendidas de trabajo, tiene muchos pacientes a su cargo, dificultades en las relaciones interpersonales, que podrían desencadenar en estrés, para lo cual el individuo desarrolla un proceso de adaptación o desequilibrio y es por esta razón la importancia de contar con estrategias para afrontar las situaciones. Objetivos: el objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las estrategias de afrontamiento ante situaciones de estrés utilizadas por los profesionales de enfermería de un Hospital Público de la ciudad de Corrientes capital, así como su asociación con variables socio demográficas. Metodología: estudio de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal y observacional. La población incluyó enfermeros de un hospital público de la ciudad de Corrientes en el período 2022. Se consideró como criterios de inclusión personal de enfermería que cumpla funciones asistenciales y su tiempo de labor fuera de 1 año o más; como criterios de exclusión, personal que tuviera dos o más puestos de trabajo y de criterios de eliminación aquellos enfermeros que no se encuentren presentes al momento de la encuesta. El cálculo del tamaño muestral se realizó a través del método probabilístico aleatorio simple resultando de éste 120 profesionales de enfermería. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicó una encuesta adaptada del cuestionario Ways of Coping Questionnaire de Lazarus y Folkman. Resultados: se evidenció que la estrategia de afrontamiento más utilizada por los enfermeros fue la reinterpretación positiva. Conclusión: a través de este estudio se logró reconocer las estrategias de afrontamiento que el personal de enfermería utilizó al momento de enfrentar situaciones o experiencias estresantes[AU]


Introduction: nursing staff face extended work days daily, have many patients under their care, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, which could trigger stress, for which the individual develops a process of adaptation or imbalance and it is for this reason the importance of having strategies to deal with situations. Objectives: the objective of this study was to analyze coping strategies in stressful situations used by nursing professionals from a Public Hospital in the capital city of Corrientes, as well as their association with sociodemographic variables. Methodology: quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and observational study. The population included nurses from a public hospital in the city of Corrientes in the period 2022. Inclusion criteria were considered nursing personnel who perform care functions and their time of work was 1 year or more; as exclusion criteria, personnel who had two or more jobs and as elimination criteria those nurses who were not present at the time of the survey. The calculation of the sample size was carried out through the simple random probabilistic method, resulting in 120 nursing professionals. For data collection, a survey adapted from the Ways of Coping Questionnaire by Lazarus and Folkman was applied. Results: it was evidenced that the coping strategy most used by nurses was positive reinterpretation. Conclusion: through this study, it was possible to recognize the coping strategies that the nursing staff used when facing stressful situations or experiences[AU]

Os critérios de inclusão foram considerados pessoal de enfermagem que desempenha funções assistenciais e seu tempo de trabalho foi de 1 ano ou mais; como critérios de exclusão, pessoal que exercesse dois ou mais vínculos empregatícios e como critérios de eliminação os enfermeiros que não estivessem presentes no momento da pes-quisa. O cálculo do tamanho da amostra foi realizado pelo método probabilístico aleatório simples, resultando em 120 profissionais de enfermagem. Para a coleta de dados, foi aplicado um questionário adaptado do Questionário de Modos de Enfrentamento de Lazarus e Folkman. Resultados: evidenciou-se que a estratégia de enfrenta-mento mais utilizada pelos enfermeiros foi a reinterpretação posi-tiva. Conclusão: Por meio deste estudo, foi possível reconhecer as estratégias de enfrentamento que a equipe de enfermagem utiliza diante de situações ou experiências estressantes[AU]
